Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

• Account: your name, email address and sign-in details, handled by Firebase Authentication. Your name and email are stored encrypted.
• Budgeting data: the income, expenses, categories, spending limits, plans, goals and notes you enter, plus your Coach settings and progress.
• Address (optional): we keep only your state and country, stored encrypted. You can leave it out.

How We Use Your Information

• To run the app: show your budgets, plans and goals, and keep them in sync across your devices.
• To power the Coach: the monthly check-up, ideas, outlook and lessons are worked out on your phone from your own data.
• To answer you when you contact support.
• We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

The Coach and AI Tips (Optional)

• What's sent: your monthly income, category totals and trends, goal amounts and dates labeled goal_1, goal_2 and so on instead of their names, the Coach ideas you tried and how they went, your current lesson, and your currency and language. Your state and country are added only if "Use my state for context" is on.
• What never leaves your phone: your name, email, account ID, memos, goal names, city and street.
• You can see the exact data sent in the app under Coach → What the coach sees.
• OpenAI processes the summary only to write your tips and doesn't use it to train its models. We keep a count of Coach requests per month to keep costs fair, not the content.
• You can turn AI tips off at any time in the app. The Coach keeps working on your phone.

Analytics

• What's collected: anonymous events such as opening the check-up or trying an idea, a random ID for this install of the app, your device model, iOS version and app version, and an approximate location (country or region) worked out from your IP address. Your IP address itself isn't stored.
• It isn't linked to your account: no name, email, account ID, amounts, categories or goal names are sent.
• It isn't used for advertising or tracking, there's no advertising ID, and it isn't shared with data brokers.
• You can turn analytics off at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy & Data.

Notifications

• Reminders for bills, goals and check-ins are scheduled on your phone from your own data. You choose which ones you get in the app's notification settings.

Service Providers

• Google Firebase: sign-in, data storage and analytics.
• OpenAI: writes AI tips when you've turned them on.
• Vercel: hosts our website and the service the app connects to. Like most hosting providers, it may keep standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) for a limited time for security and reliability.

Data Security

• Your data is protected with encryption and Firebase's security, and each account can reach only its own data.

Your Rights and Choices

• View and update your information in the app at any time.
• Turn AI tips, "Use my state for context" and analytics on or off in the app.
• Delete your account in Settings → Privacy & Data. This permanently erases your account and budgeting data and can't be undone.

Children's Privacy

• EasyWay Budget is not intended for children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

• When we change this policy, we update the version and the "What changed" summary above. For important changes, the app asks you to review and agree before you continue.
